What is the Isle of Palms like?Bordered by pristine beaches and a network of marsh creeks, the barrier island of Isle of Palms has been a vacation spot since the late 19th century when it was only accessible by ferry. In 1929, a bridge was built, which opened up the island to more than just local residents. Today, it’s the island’s great fishing, beaches and golf that provide a few of the magnets for visitors. With a laid-back, easy going, resort lifestyle, the most popular fashion statement is flip-flops and a t-shirt. Isle of Palms is a great place to gear down from a hectic lifestyle. With that in mind, you should consider a spacious and comfortable vacation rental.What is there to do on the Isle of Palms ?A comfortable and amenity-rich vacation rental is a much better option than a small, boring hotel room. After a day of cruising the area’s creeks and rivers or deep-sea fishing, you’ll feel rewarded when you return to a welcoming vacation rental. The magnificent stretch of beach on Isle of Palms is both photogenic and fun. Once you’ve done your obligatory sunbathing and beachcombing at the Isle of Palms County Park Beach, head to nearby Charleston, a 30-minute drive away, which has historic sites, landmarks, shopping districts, golf courses and family attractions like The South Carolina Aquarium and Fountain Walk, a new dining, entertainment and shopping complex nearby. For golfers, the Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms features two 18-hole courses designed by Tom Fazio and there are several more excellent layouts on the mainland, including Patriots Point and Charleston National Country Club. Why choose a vacation rentals over a hotel?Whether you decide on a villa with an ocean view, a spacious modern home, quaint cottage or cute cabin, you’ll enjoy the freedom, convenience and value of a vacation rental. Imagine all the possibilities for money-saving meals you’ll have in your fully equipped kitchen. You can prepare your family everything from a sumptuous grilled fish dinner to a barbecue poolside. Let’s face it, you certainly can’t do that in a cramped hotel room!Hotel rooms are expensive and don’t compare with the value and money-saving elements of a vacation rental. From large verandas to entertain and dine to game rooms and other amenities, vacation rentals provide much more than a hotel room. Better still, we have special deals and discounts on many of our vacation rentals in every price range in a variety of settings on the islands. Check our Holiday Specials page for more details.What time is Check-In? Check-in time is after 4:00 pm. All efforts are made to have homes ready by check-in time, but we cannot guarantee the exact time of occupancy due to unforeseen circumstances. Housekeeping and all maintenance personnel must provide services between occupancies for every home. A limited number of 1:00 pm check-ins are available. Requests must be approved by phone and paid for in advance of arrival. The fee applies whether or not you arrive by the designated time. Services such as pool & spa cleaning and some maintenance calls may not be completed prior to Early Check-In and guests should anticipate service personnel arriving throughout the afternoon. If you arrive after-hours, a Property Manager meet you at the property. Is there any construction going on near our vacation home? We cannot predict construction plans in the area. You may reserve a house at a time when there is no construction in progress nearby, but construction could begin prior to your arrival. We regret any inconvenience that may result, but have no control in these situations and are not able to facilitate relocations or refunds. What amenities are standard to all the vacation homes? The following amenities are standard to all homes unless specifically noted in the description: Bed & Bath Linens for reservations of 7 days or more,Pillows & Blankets, Coffeemaker, Toaster or Toaster Oven, Blender, Dishes, Utensils & Cookware, Dishwasher, Microwave, Iron & Ironing Board, Stereo with CD player, Telephone, TV & DVD player, High-Speed Wireless Internet,Cable TV , Central Heat & Air Conditioning, Washer & Dryer, Outdoor Furniture, BBQ Grill (gas or charcoal), Beach Chairs Are linens and towels provided at my vacation home? All bed and bath linens are provided. Please note crib linens are not provided but we can hire them from Babys Away for you. Beds (except trundles, top bunks, Futons, rollaways and sleep sofas) are made the day of your arrival. If you stay for more than one week, daily or weekly cleaning and linen services are available. Please contact our office as soon as possible if you would like to make these arrangements. What is the phone number at our vacation home? The home telephone number is included on your confirmation letter and check-in packet - many homes no longer have landlines available. You may also contact our office for this information. Local Calls: There is no charge for local calls. Long Distance Calls: All homes (unless otherwise advertised) have a long distance block. Options for placing long distance calls include calling cards, pre-paid phone cards and collect calls. Any unauthorized long distance calls charged to the vacation home’s telephone will be billed to the leaseholder. Are floor plans available for all homes? Some homes on our website feature floor plans, but not all. If a home on our website does not have a floor plan posted, then as k and we may be able draw you one. We will be happy to give you as much information as we can. Does every bedroom have a TV? We do not guarantee TVs in the bedrooms. We only guarantee one in the greatroom or main living area of the home. What if I leave an item behind in the vacation home I stayed in? AgentOwned cannot be responsible for any items left in a home. We will attempt to locate items reported as left behind and, if found, return them for a fee of $25.00, which includes shipping. Items that are found but not claimed within 10 days will be donated to Goodwill.
